So, the next Scottish wedding venue on our Goosebump List (The Blue Sky Photography list of some of our favourite wedding venues) is Drumtochty Castle and St Palladius Church. This exclusive use castle and church are nestled in the Drumtochty Glen just outside the sleepy Aberdeenshire village of Auchenblae.
We think you’d be pushed to find a more beautiful place in Scotland for your wedding celebrations.
Our love for Drumtochty Castle started some ten years ago when Rachel and Ian invited us to shoot their wedding; we were smitten with Drumtochty (and Rach and Ian).
Drumtochty is designed for the most awesome wedding house party ever. It’s a true home from home. Loads of accommodation. Bags of character. Cracking food. Tick, tick, tick.
Check out our Goosebump List and explore why we think castle weddings at this Scottish mansion are really rather special.

Drumtochty Castle weddings in autumn are simply magical. Andrea and Mike planned theirs to perfection – with the sage greens and golds and oranges of the flowers creating a warmth within the castle as well as outwith.
Getting to know these two as been a lot of fun. They make a top team and have a similar wonderful sense of humour. Highlights from their day include Andrea’s walk down the aisle, the emotional readings, the quaich ceremony (led by Uncle John), the speeches (Andrea’s killer line announcing “Mike I have made you a better person” had the room in stitches). And of course the most brilliant first dance.
Beverley and Mark’s Drumtochty Castle wedding was personal and perfect from beginning to end. They had all their favourite people involved (from Stepdad Ross and his brother Charlie conducting the service through to friends playing the organ). Oh and one of the best surprises had to be Mark’s family serenading this pair (we will always think of you when we hear the song Alleluia )
Their spring wedding was beautiful in spite of the rain (think one of the wettest days ever). Actually it was a little more beautiful because of the rain. As family and friends dashed for cover under mutlicloured brollies there were smile, giggles and lot of togetherness. And what could be better than cosying up in Drumtochty Castle as the wood burners crackle?
