Serena & Doug’s Wedding at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry

Happy 2011 to you all! We are soo excited about the year to come. There are beautiful weddings ahead, new locations to explore and one or two exciting projects up our sleeve – keep up with us via Facebook, twitter and the Blue Sky blog for all the latest chat!

We have some looovely posts to share with you over the next few days. Fantastic people, top spots and some great wedding ideas.

To kick off 2011, we’re delighted to share Serena and Doug’s stunning winter wedding. Remember all that snow? (In fact as we look out our window in Edinburgh today we still have snow!). The snow just added to the magical winter wonderfulness of this wedding at Hopetoun House.

These two are a great couple, their friends and family are so much fun; the warmth and buzz of friends catching up over the champagne reception was infectious – we had a blast! It was also special for us to see a few familiar Blue Sky faces…

Serena and Doug – we knew that your plans would work perfectly in spite of the unknown snow-factor! The family involvement throughout (especially the Munro family band) made it all so personal and little Archie was a star…

Your party was immense. The dancefloor was rockin’ and we have never seen a ‘love train’ in the ballroom of Hopetoun House before – even looking at the shots makes us smile. Truly awesome! The Fabulous Shire Boys created top sounds and their chat was great as they taught lots of non-celiedh dancers to celeidh dance. Loved it!

Enjoy some highlights of your beautiful winter wedding.

Real Life Wedding: Hopetoun House

Hopetoun House is magical pretty much most days. But the day of Nic and Oli’s wedding it seemed to have an extra layer of something. Perhaps it was the weather (impeccably behaved for once), or the sweet sound of laughter on the breeze, or just the general vibe of all things extraordinarily perfect…

Real Life Wedding: Dunglass Estate

Alex and Molly are the kind of people who embrace life and all it throws at them. Including what we can only be described as the windiest wedding I think we’ve ever been at (think winds of 50 mph – enough to take out huge stone planters) And the result was a wedding day that was even more magical that anyone could have imagined.

Real Life Wedding: Drumtochty Castle

Their spring wedding was beautiful in spite of the rain (think one of the wettest days ever). Actually it was a little more beautiful because of the rain. As family and friends dashed for cover under mutlicloured brollies there were smile, giggles and lot of togetherness. And what could be better than cosying up in Drumtochty Castle as the wood burners crackle?
