Hopetoun House is magical pretty much most days. But the day of Nic and Oli’s wedding it seemed to have an extra layer of something. Perhaps it was the weather (impeccably behaved for once), or the sweet sound of laughter on the breeze, or just the general vibe of all things extraordinarily perfect…
Getting to know this pair has been a delight. From chatting all things wedding (and pretty much anything else any between) we feel like we’ve known them for ages. When we asked their family what they loved most their answers followed a theme – relaxed, fun who care lots about their family and friends.
Nic and Oli we’re also big fans of yours. Photographing your wedding was a day we were so excited about and it was even more of a treat that we could have imagined. We have so many highlights. From your aisle walk (emotional and sublime all at once), your ceremony and exploring Hopetoun with you. We love that one of your favourite moments was having your photos taken on the stairs post wedding ceremony. And of course taking a trip up Lime Avenue (who knew – there are even Lime Trees 🤣)
Thank you for letting us be your wedding day storytellers. Here’s some post honeymoon joy for you. Soo excited to catch-up and all your collection…. and start planning your wedding album.
#BigBlueSkyLove,
Alie & Niels xx
Hopetoun House is one of those take-your-breath-away venues. We challenge anyone not to drive up that driveway and feel more than a little bit in awe. And if you’re on your way to a party there then be prepared to be wined and dined and thoroughly ensconced in so much Scottish history you’ll feel a little bit more intelligent just being there.
We have been privileged to photograph one or two weddings and events there over the years. So if you want to see more take a peak at our Goosebump List

Katie and Michael’s Mansfield Traquair wedding was all about enjoying every single minute. Which was pretty easy as literally this pair walk into a room and bring the party.
Dundas Castle is always magical at the start of autumn. The trees are on the edge of turning and when you step inside the Castle the smell of the fires welcomes you. For Alice and Daniel September is also a pretty special month as it’s also the month they first met (at Glasgow University fresher’s week).
Beverley and Mark’s Drumtochty Castle wedding was personal and perfect from beginning to end. They had all their favourite people involved (from Stepdad Ross and his brother Charlie conducting the service through to friends playing the organ). Oh and one of the best surprises had to be Mark’s family serenading this pair (we will always think of you when we hear the song Alleluia )
