Gemma & Chris’ Wedding, Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, Part 1

Gemma and Chris’ wedding was such a special one for so, so many reasons… so many people who helped the day to come together have known Gemma since a very young age so it meant heaps to see them involved. Just a few tears were shed as Gemma and her Dad walked up the aisle.

We knew we were in for a world of complete loveliness and major attention to detail with Gemma and Chris’ wedding. Gemma is one super talented lady, as anyone who knows her would tell you (and those who’ve seen her many and varied creations will echo this)

For us, the word that sums up Gemma and Chris’ wedding above all others, is ‘together’. From all the team at Planet Flowers who worked alongside Gemma to help her vision come to life, to the teams at Hopetoun House and Heritage Portfolio who were so delighted to be involved in their day… but even more than that to the togetherness of Gemma and Chris. They are a top couple and fit together so well and make the perfect team.

Team Bain you know we think you two are a huge bundle of fabiness… thank you for letting us be part of your wedding. We loved every second.

Enjoy your blog post…

See you soon, big Blue Sky love always,

Niels was also very chuffed as Gemma made something for Niels to wear as well – love it!

The ceremony was lovely and intimate and we loved the signing table, which Gemma and Chris had covered together with lots of individual leaves – stunning. And seriously – how lovely are these pumpkins? (each one grown by Rachel).

After the ceremony guests were welcomed into the Carriage Room for a little glass of something and some lovely canapes

Real Life Wedding: Drumtochty Castle

01 November 2025

Drumtochty Castle weddings in autumn are simply magical. Andrea and Mike planned theirs to perfection – with the sage greens and golds and oranges of the flowers creating a warmth within the castle as well as outwith.
Getting to know these two as been a lot of fun. They make a top team and have a similar wonderful sense of humour. Highlights from their day include Andrea’s walk down the aisle, the emotional readings,  the quaich ceremony (led by Uncle John), the speeches (Andrea’s killer line announcing “Mike I have made you a better person” had the room in stitches). And of course the most brilliant first dance.

Real Life Wedding: Mansfield Traquair

18 October 2025

Laura and Calum’s wedding was always going to be a day filled with smiles a-plenty and the kind of party atmosphere that fills Mansfield to its rooftops. It was such a privilege to photograph this wedding as it feels like we’ve known Laura forever and meeting Calum and little Rae has been a delight.

Words these two would use to sum up their wedding are sentimental, sincere and silly… it was a day jam-packed with friends, family, fun and a wee dram or two of  Fluffylump.

Real Life Wedding: Royal College of Physicians

04 October 2025

The Royal College of Physicians is a little piece of wedding magic right in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre.  For Isla and Patrick it was nothing short of perfect.

It’s a known fact that they are besotted with each other. In the best kind of way which means they look out for each other and take the time to check-in (even on the wedding morning) But also they include all of their family and friends which makes everyone love them more  Their vows were the most beautiful vows we have ever heard, but then they are both exceptionally gifted with words so we should have expected nothing less.
