From our very first meeting with Catherine and Alex, when they told us about their Dundas Castle wedding, we were grinning from ear to ear. These two are warm, easy going and love each other to bits. The way they speak about their family and friends told us their wedding was going to be a blast from beginning to end.
And it was that and then some… From prep in the morning, through to saying their vows at the top of the aisle (one of the biggest ever aisles!) to their brilliant confetti walk, every part was filled with genuine emotion.
There were so many thoughtful personal touches throughout the day and family were at the heart of it all. Cat carried her Granny’s special-occasion hanky and wore Alex’s Grandma’s brooch . Sisters — Sarah, Eilidh, Megan, and Hannah — gave readings in the church (and also choreographed some epic dance moves!) while mums, Jennifer and Kay, stood proudly as witnesses.
What stood out most for us was the atmosphere — constant laughter and everyone mingling and connecting like old friends. And the dancefloor? Jam-packed (as we knew it would be)
Thanks Cat and Alex for trusting us to tell your wedding story and for being a joy to photograph (and for being so up for walking by the palace and then all the way to the top of the keep at Dundas – big respect!) You are also a lot of fun to be around (we know Jo and Don from Bowery Productions would agree!)
Your wedding was a day that perfectly reflected you: joyful, romantic, and full of togetherness.
Enjoy your maxi-moon and can’t wait to catch-up when you’re back

Melville Castle has always had a special place in our hearts as it’s one of the first castles we ever photographed a wedding at. Combine that with one of the most incredible couples and you have the stuff of unstoppable wedding magic. Megan and Jonathan’s story is one of long-lasting friendship followed by falling in love. As they’ve grown up together they are a pair steeped in love and support for each other and that is so evident to anyone who knows them.
Drumtochty Castle weddings in autumn are simply magical. Andrea and Mike planned theirs to perfection – with the sage greens and golds and oranges of the flowers creating a warmth within the castle as well as outwith.
Getting to know these two as been a lot of fun. They make a top team and have a similar wonderful sense of humour. Highlights from their day include Andrea’s walk down the aisle, the emotional readings, the quaich ceremony (led by Uncle John), the speeches (Andrea’s killer line announcing “Mike I have made you a better person” had the room in stitches). And of course the most brilliant first dance.
Laura and Calum’s wedding was always going to be a day filled with smiles a-plenty and the kind of party atmosphere that fills Mansfield to its rooftops. It was such a privilege to photograph this wedding as it feels like we’ve known Laura forever and meeting Calum and little Rae has been a delight.
Words these two would use to sum up their wedding are sentimental, sincere and silly… it was a day jam-packed with friends, family, fun and a wee dram or two of Fluffylump.
