When you’ve already fallen in love with The Balmoral Hotel, why would you get married anywhere else?
It’s the perfect Edinburgh city centre venue: castle views, nestled between the train station and the old town; and of course Victorian architecture to die for.
For Diane & Chris it was the obvious choice. I mean these two even have their own seats by the bar! Classical and romantic with more than a good ladleful of fun, their wedding was a blast from beginning to end.
Thank you Mr and Mrs Wright for choosing us. Something tells us we’re going to keep in touch!

Did you know the Balmoral Hotel was the very first place in Edinburgh that Blue Sky Photography photographed a wedding? True fact. All the way back in the giddy heights of 2003. And we love the hotel as much now as we did then. Truth is we probably love it even more. Because since then we have discovered so many hidden nooks and crannies. Since then we have photographed so many incredible events, from weddings for two, to parties for hundreds. And for each and ever one the Balmoral Hotel (and the fabulous team) delivers on style, substance and something special that you feel from the minute you push those gold revolving doors.

Katie and Michael’s Mansfield Traquair wedding was all about enjoying every single minute. Which was pretty easy as literally this pair walk into a room and bring the party.
Dundas Castle is always magical at the start of autumn. The trees are on the edge of turning and when you step inside the Castle the smell of the fires welcomes you. For Alice and Daniel September is also a pretty special month as it’s also the month they first met (at Glasgow University fresher’s week).
Beverley and Mark’s Drumtochty Castle wedding was personal and perfect from beginning to end. They had all their favourite people involved (from Stepdad Ross and his brother Charlie conducting the service through to friends playing the organ). Oh and one of the best surprises had to be Mark’s family serenading this pair (we will always think of you when we hear the song Alleluia )
