Prepare to be wowed by Rosebery Steading. We are blessed with so many jaw dropping Scottish wedding venues. Scotland will always deliver: from fairytale romantic castles, exclusive use wedding venues, through to 5 star hotels. There is undoubtedly the right wedding venue out there for you.
Hunting for “the one” may take some legwork, but that’s actually really good fun (or is that just me?!) You’ll undoubtedly get that gut feel when you find the space and place of your wedding dreams.
If you’re in full-on wedding planning mode, we’re happy to help you with your venue shortlisting. We’ve had a sneaky preview of an utterly sublime, all-new, luxury wedding barn that will be hosting weddings later in 2021 when restrictions allow. And wow is it special.
I’ve long thought that the Edinburgh wedding venue scene had space for a beautiful barn conversion. On my wish list? Flexibility of space for different sizes of wedding; a short ride from Edinburgh and all of those gorgeous charms that barns give. This place didn’t exist anywhere but in my mind. Until I visited Rosebery Steading.
When I say wedding barn, I’m possibly understating it. Let’s rephrase. It’s better positioned as a 200 year old “farm-toun” barn that’s been wonderfully changed into a box fresh event space.
I was privileged to see Rosebery Steading transform through the year from the late stages of the conversion through to this styled shoot we completed last year with the events team. I cannot wait to be here photographing real weddings and corporate events in the months ahead. Without question, it’s the kind of place where magic will happen.
Here’s a brief tour of what makes this new Scottish wedding venue so special…
Rosebery Steading is perfectly situated only 20 minutes south of Edinburgh, just outside Gorebridge. Super handy for your guests flying into Edinburgh or journeying by train. It’s set amid private grounds, tranquil hills and rolling countryside so is very much a retreat from the city.
From the minute you glide down the driveway you’ll feel like you’ve arrived somewhere you can really kick back and relax. It totally sets the tone for a special wedding day! And this is before your guests have even stepped one foot in the door.
Rosebery Steading has two beautifully proportioned barn spaces for your wedding celebration.
The most important words here are beautifully proportioned – some barns are long and thin. Others are cavernous and square. Rosebery is just right. Not too long. Not too narrow. Not huge and echo filled. But just the right size and shape.
The vital statistics are that 100 guests can be seated for dinner and twenty-eight of your besties can stay over to keep the party going that little bit longer in the luxurious on-site accommodation … yesss!
Another beauty of Rosebery Steading is that it is a real blank canvas for you to bespoke the venue as you’d like. But by blank canvas, I’m not talking empty box with no character. It’s simply a backdrop for you to crate as your own. Add drama with lighting, glorious florals… you can basically make the space your own and let your wedding personality and style shine through.
We’d say go as ultra chic or as chilled and relaxed as you like. Both will work.
We had the joy of working with Planet Flowers on the event floristry and Core Event Services on the creative lighting design. Chat with them and the event team at Rosebery Steading and they’ll all help your ideas come to fruition.
Having access to the whole Rosebery Steading allows you to plan your wedding celebrations in different zones: for example an indoor meal the night before your wedding or a fire pit in the central courtyard for a more chilled night time festival vibe.
And that’s before you’ve even considered adding in a food truck for an evening buffet into the central courtyard…
Sympathetically developed into a unique and versatile entertaining space, Rosebery Steading boasts beautiful accommodation, a bespoke bar, extensive landscaping, private gardens and a hue central courtyard for blissful summer’s drinks receptions.
There are a couple of things that set Rosebery Steading…
Firstly, the quality of the finishing in Rosebery Steading is remarkable. The bar is beautiful and could sit perfectly comfortably on Edinburgh’s swanky George Street. That’s unique in a wedding venue.
Secondly, Rosebery Steading actually has two event barns so you can quite simply do more on your wedding day. Many barns only have one barn or room which usually would involve a turnaround for your caterer and time to move tables and chairs.
By having two you’re not only giving your guests more places and spaces to enjoy, but you’ve also got more areas to style, design and create wedding pretty for your big day.
In a word – tons!
As photographers, Rosebery Steading is the kind of wedding venue that gets us excited as there are so many options.
For starters the landscapes are pretty breathtaking (from the sunniest day to the mistiest morning it’s a picture perfect backdrop) Then think beautiful interiors, textured barn walls, arched doors… as well as outdoor spaces galore.
We cannot wait for our first sunset shoot in the countryside in and around Rosebery Steading. Bring. It. On.
Alie and I always say have a wet dry weather plan and a wet weather plan up your sleeve. No matter what the glorious Scottish climate throws your way, you’ll be confident of having an excellent plan good to go.
There you have it. A sneaky preview of this sublime shiny new wedding and event venue. (You’re welcome!)
