Kiren and Sandeep’s wedding celebrations began with their pre-wedding parties – known as the Ladies Sangeet. Both were such fun and involved ladies singing traditional folk songs and lots of dancing and partying for all. Here’s some of our highlight’s from Sandeep’s Ladies Sangeet… we’ll post some from Kiren’s tomorrow…
At Sandeep’s Ladies Sangeet he also had his batna ceremony, which involved a yellow turmeric paste being applied to his legs, face, and arms. This is done as an act of cleansing and balance before married life. All the ladies took it in turns to rub this paste onto Sandeep, who sat patiently throughout.
A large part of both sangeet parties involved traditional dance – with sticks and with the Jaggo (a fab coloured hat with candles which folks took turns to wear and dance with) Apparently there is some competition between the Falkirk and the Glasgow sides of the family about whose dancing is better?… we’ll leave it up to you to decide once you’ve seen the highlights from Kiren’s Ladies Sangeet tomorrow…
Look out for Part 2 tomorrow…
Katie and Michael’s Mansfield Traquair wedding was all about enjoying every single minute. Which was pretty easy as literally this pair walk into a room and bring the party.
Dundas Castle is always magical at the start of autumn. The trees are on the edge of turning and when you step inside the Castle the smell of the fires welcomes you. For Alice and Daniel September is also a pretty special month as it’s also the month they first met (at Glasgow University fresher’s week).
Beverley and Mark’s Drumtochty Castle wedding was personal and perfect from beginning to end. They had all their favourite people involved (from Stepdad Ross and his brother Charlie conducting the service through to friends playing the organ). Oh and one of the best surprises had to be Mark’s family serenading this pair (we will always think of you when we hear the song Alleluia )
THIS is beautiful. The colours. The textures. Even the handshapes. STUUUUUNING!
Wow, I am so excited to see the others now. You guys were great at all of the events, so incredibly discreet it was easy to miss you were there and then you show up with these amazing photos! 🙂
