As a child I always had a challenge when it to buying a Mother’s Day card for my Mum as traditionally she has always liked the ones that mentioned ‘Mothering Sunday’ (I think the theory being that Mother’s Day was too commercialised).
Although we’ve relaxed this rule over the years it’s still important for me to pick a card with the right words. Because what I really want to say is Thank You Mum.
Thank you for all you do for me and have done. For anyone that knows my Mum she is someone who always wants to help. She is always there for me and I can rely on her 110% (and then some).
When it comes to gifts for my Mum it’s more about experience and doing things together, than flowers or chocolates.
Last year Sarah captured this image of Mum and I and I love it.
I love it because I don’t have many images of Mum (partly as she often refuses) and it matters to me that I capture this time and our relationship.
Thank you Mum,
Alie x
