Thanks so much for being here. We realise that choosing the right photographer for your celebration is as important as choosing the right wedding outfit.

As your wedding storytellers we need to get to know you. You’re always the big-shots – not us.
We want to know what’s important to you (and who’s important to you) so we can capture the photographs that matter to you, rather than simply something for our portfolio. These are the  photographs that will travel with you for ever and become part of your shared family history.

How much do we need to invest?

Your wedding will be one of a kind. We’ve created wedding photography collections based on exactly what matters to our couples – these include one or two photographers and your choice of part or full day coverage of your celebrations.

As with all things Blue Sky we are more than happy to create something bespoke for you and as we get to know you we’ll realise what’s important to you because we know one size doesn’t fit all.

What if we want to just have some of the day covered?

Intimate — £2,750

What if we want the full wedding day covered (preparations through to dancing)?

How do we book?

If you think we’re the photographers for you then we’ll send you out our wedding agreement. At this stage we’ll ask for the £500 booking fee to confirm your date. And if we’ve not met you in person already we’ll make sure we’ve got a date in the diary to catch-up and get to know what you’d both love from your wedding photography. Can I check you have availability for our date?

Of course – just get in touch here with your wedding details including date and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Click on this link for our contact form.

How do you take payment?

We take payment in two key stages; a booking fee and a  pre-wedding payment (normally 3-4 weeks before your wedding day)

This breaks down as a £500 booking fee; and your pre-wedding balance (which will vary depending on your option selected)

If you upgrade later to a larger album or add on any other matted prints then that is simply chargeable at that point.

We take payment by BACS and debit or credit card. All our charges are inclusive of VAT at the current rate.

Can we organise photography gift vouchers?

Whether you have a gift list, or are simply letting guests pick their own presents, adding wedding photography gift vouchers is a fantastic way of having even more in the pot to spend on a larger album, or something  beautiful for your wall.

What if I want to book straight away?

We’re delighted you want to book straight away.  Next steps are let’s have a chat (email us at hello@blueskyphotography.co.uk or give us a call on 0131 447 1100) and find out more about your wedding day. Then we’ll send you our wedding agreement and get your date booked in.

Whether you’ve got your wedding day all planned out, or you’re not sure where to start, we’re here to help. We’ve got a fabulous trusted book of suppliers and our unflappable nature means that nothing phases us. So you can literally throw anything at us and we’ll help however we can. What about formal group photographs?

We know that family and friends are everything and while we all love cracking candid photographs, the photographs we know you’ll treasure for all time will be your organised family and friends group photographs. We’ll work with you to create a list in advance so it’s super slick. And if you’ve ever witnessed us in action at a wedding you’ll know we can nail group photographs in record time so that everyone enjoys it and has plenty mingle time (call it a super-power!)

What do you do if the weather's awful?

We love the weather – fair and extreme. It’s what your day is and we’re more than happy to work inside and out. We always have a plan for wet days as well as dry and have the skill and appropriate kit to help us work in different lighting conditions, regardless of the weather.We’re up for getting wet if you are!

How far do you travel?

We love travelling to different wedding locations across the country – it’s one of the joys of our job.We have an inclusive 50 mile allowance from the studio address at 6A New Mart Road, EH14 1RL . Anything over-and-above this is simply chargeable at our mileage rate which is 60p per mile.

What happens after our wedding?

We know everyone’s talking about before your wedding day, but what about afterwards… how do you make your photographs one to life? All of our wedding options include a design consultation after your wedding. This basically means we spoil you with your own movie screening of your wedding and then help you plan your album and wall art. All of our wedding options include an album and frame-worthy mounted prints so this helps lots. We also think the worst idea is to receive an email link to your wedding photographs and have no idea where to start. Part of our job is to help you bring them to life so they last for generations.

What about albums?

All of our albums are handmade by Queensberry and are just beautiful. Our albums start at £750 for the first 20 photographs, so you can choose to stick to that album or go for a larger album with more photographs. There is no basic album, just larger albums with more photographs.

What about digital files?

We understand that some of our clients like the security of having the copyright of their images along with the album, while others simply prefer to have access on their phones. We have a flexible approach to this and you can either purchase copyright along with your album (taking advantage of our print offer at the same time) or you can have all of your images social media sized. Digital options start at £300.

How do I display my photographs?

Many of couples love displaying their photographs in their homes and we’ve lots of options we can show you, One of the big advantages of being studio-based photographers is we have curated our product offering so we can help with framing for the wall and the bedside table.

We include frame-ready mounted prints with all of our options and you can choose to display them all in your own home or gift to parents as you prefer.

How quickly do we see our wedding photograph collection?

With every option we’ll send you some social media previews within 72 hours of your big day that you can share with friends and family.

We’ll also arrange a date with you at your pre-wedding meeting for you to see the complete story of your day – this is likely to be around 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
